(JUNE 5, 2020) — Mocingbird is proud to announce it was selected this week to participate in MassChallenge Rhode Island’s 2020 accelerator program. It was one of just 30 startups selected from a pool of nearly 300 global applicants.
Founded in 2018, MassChallenge Rhode Island is committed to supporting and inspiring the next best innovations that will reshape our world. As a 2020 Finalist, Mocingbird will not only be connected to a powerful community of resources and support in Rhode Island and regional opportunities in Boston, but also have access to a global network of leading corporate partners, policymakers, and innovation leaders.

More than 100 expert judges - comprising of investors, serial entrepreneurs, corporate executives, academics, and more - evaluated the Rhode Island applicants based on each startup’s ability to demonstrate high impact and high potential in their fields.
Mocingbird was selected as a finalist in the Healthcare and Life Sciences category. The platform allows medical professionals and administrators to easily manage ongoing education requirements needed to maintain their credentials - which is often a confusing process that can take untold hours. The company’s founders - Dr. Madom, a spine surgeon at Ortho Rhode Island, and Dr. George Fernaine, chief of cardiology at NYU Brooklyn - came up with the idea while working toward their MBAs at Yale University’s School of Management.
