Throughout Women’s History Month we have taken this opportunity to reflect on the impact that women make every day. Only about 40% of US startups have at least one woman in the C-suite or on the board of directors.  At Mocingbird, we have the privilege to work with a team of amazing female leaders with almost 50% of C-suite and director positions are filled by females and 66% of the company is female. 

 The team’s intelligence, hard work, dedication, and creativity not only have pushed the company to hit key milestones but have also been an influential part in creating the positive Mocingbird culture. Here are some of the reasons why:

Diversity

The team’s diverse background is what makes us stronger. The team is located all over from Rhode Island to Boston to New York to California. With different backgrounds from healthcare to large tech companies to luxury fashion to current nursing students, everyone brings their own unique experiences to Mocingbird. 

Creativity

During our weekly echo meeting, we dedicate this time for the whole company to come together to give updates on each department. We share our “wins” so we can celebrate together, motivate each other with kind words and inspirational quotes. By having a diverse voice during the echo meetings, it allows us to think more creatively as a team.

Support

The women of Mocingbird along with the men have created a very safe space where employees know that they are supported and cared for. We have recently started a new initiative where we open or close the company meetings with sharing sessions, where all team members are encouraged to share some of their highs and lows of the week. These quick check-ins helped this remote team to bond and grow together. 

Fun

We will admit it, we have a lot of fun here at Mocingbird. Our team has a secret event planner, cocktail recipe enthusiast, one finds a way to squeeze a game into anything, and the list goes on. All of our personalities mix so well together and we love spending time together- our company Christmas party that was scheduled for an hour ended up going all night! This speaks miles about our company culture and environment.
